It is an engine misfire. Don't accelerate too fast or brake too fast. Get your car into the shop as soon as you can because it can/will cause damage to your catalytic converter.

A flashing engine light is usually a misfire.
The OBD2 system will not BLINK codes for you. It requires a engine scanner to read the codes. HAVE ENGINE SCANED. Some parts stores will do that for free.
