It probably needs a tune-up and the carb and choke looked at.
Could be your oil is old or too thick. I would try a tune-up and oil change before looking elsewhere.
Probably your ECM capacitors need to be replaced--do it your self pretty cheap. pay for someone to do it--about $250-400--they'll do it in about 10 minutes.
try checking the IAC motor. if it stalls at idle then it could be that. or the egr valve. one of the two have to be contributing to the problem

There are many things that it could be, but you should try checking your fuel pressure regulator. Did you replace the fuel filter first?
