Throttle body injected. Like a cross between carburetor and injector.
Sounds like you have a bad Vehicle Speed Sensor.
Go to an auto parts store and ask for an OEM filter. You will then know what it looks like.
99% likely,,,,,,,,,,, needs the fuel filter or fuel pump replaced.
Its round it has one line coming in one going out.
Do you have a misfire?

There is no carburetor on these new fangled cars. Darn things have the newer port fuel injection. Not even throttle body injection, which kind of LOOKS like a carburetor. It does have a throttle body though, at the junction of the air intake hose and the intake manifold.
It could be a thermostat that is stuck open or maybe a bigger problem...like the blend door is either jammed or broken as well.
If it's like my 1999 taurus, it is located on the underside of the rear dash inside the trunk.
