It tells the transmission computer what gear the driver has selected. ie: park, reverse, neutral, drive, low
There is no such thing as a "prndl" switch.
Not sure about a switch, but there is a fuse for it in the fuse box.
about midway down the steering column
It is in the PRNDL switch on top of the trans. It sends a signal to the ecm.
It is in the transmission, on the valve body. It is called a trs. (trans range sensor)
there is not one, only a clutch switch or A/T PRNDL switch blocks the key path.
It is inside the transmission, on the valve body. It is called a range sensor.
The neutral switch is inside the transmission next to the valve body..It's called a PRNDL switch..not an easy job...
on the side if the tranny. its called the PRNDL switch. look for cig pack size black plastic and cable, bingo. that be it.
The 1993 Buick Le Sabre comes with a 4T60E transaxle. Go to the driver's side fender and lean over. The PRNDL switch is located on the back part of the transaxle where the engine meets with the transaxle. If you look down past your brake booster towards the transaxle you should be able to see it. It should have two sets of wire harnesses coming out of it as well as the shifter arm connected to it.
This is really hard without a wiring diagram but it goes like this. The light is grounded at the lamp or bulb. From the socket where the bulb is, the wire goes to the MLPS or PRNDL which is on the side of the transmission by the shift lever. Manual Lever Position Switch or Park reverse neutral drive low,PRNDL, is an half round plastic switch that tells the computer what gear has been selected. When its in reverse, the power for the light comes from the computer to the bulb throught the switch. This can be better traced with a wiring diagram.
you probably broke the shifter cable. this is a metal cable that run from the shifter in your column to the prndl switch on the trans eay to fix and relatively cheap
