On the 84 is looks like a rectangular block plugged into the base of the distributer.

Check behind the glove compartment. The TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module) is located there on some Ford vehicles like the Exploder and the Ranger.
Should be on firewall next to master cylinder
It's a scam they don't work! I installed one on my 1996 For Ranger and it did NOTHING!!! Don't bother installing it on your truck it's a big scam just like G FORCE.
a soleniod is just one item in a schematic its like a big relay if it needs to be replace its like 8 bucks, if you want the schematic for the whole starter system its basically battery+ to soleniod to starter to battery-
Pull off the passenger side kick pannel and you will see a module that says something like keyless entry or security module. If you have this module you have keyless entry. This answer is based on my 2000 ranger with keyless entry. Mike B Orlando

It sounds like the starter solenoid is bad.
it is located under the passenger side of the truck and is near the right lower control arm. It looks like a large cylynder with another smaller one attached to it. There are three bolts that hold it on, the bottom is easily accessable but the others arent as easy.
