If I remember correctly the "wt" or more accurately the "W/T" stood for "Work Truck" and was available in the Cheyenne package with the single cab, "fleet side" long-bed with painted bumpers and outside mirrors as well as a different (silver painted) grill to start with around 1988/89. I'm not sure of the engine transmission combination but every one I remember seeing in the late 80's and early 90's was the 5.7 liter V8 with throttle body injection and the 700-R4 automatic transmission. Around 1990 GM made the 3500 series available with the 454 (7.4 liter). These models were an affordable alternative for new truck buyers who needed a long bed truck for business usage. These trucks came with air-conditioning and AM/FM radios but had vinyl bench seating as well as manually adjustable outside mirrors, and manual (crank) side windows.
