Engine not running 35-45 PSI Egnine running 30-40 PSI
30-40 psi
Check fuel pressure with a gauge Engine running at idle 13-20 psi Key on engine off 23-30 psi
Lift pump pressure is only about 10 psi. Cummins actually does not put a spec on it. They put a spec on how much volume the pump is putting out. Should be more that 500ml in 30 seconds. The high pressure side of the system will vary from 5000 psi to 20,000 psi.
check the fuel pressure it should be at like 35 to 40 psi its like 30$ for a tester the tester hooks up on the fuel rail my 98 Chevy Malibu was only pushing 18 psi replaced it car runs great
Could be a fuel filter or fuel pump is weak. Change fuel filter and check output pressure of the fuel pump at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail. You will need a fuel pressure gauge. At idle you should be getting at LEAST 30 to 50 psi.
In a fuel-injected system, the average pressure range for the fuel pump typically falls between 30 to 60 psi (pounds per square inch), depending on the specific engine and fuel system design. Some high-performance engines may require pressures exceeding 70 psi. Maintaining the correct fuel pressure is crucial for optimal engine performance and fuel efficiency.
The recommended psi level for inflating a bike tire using a bike pump is typically between 30 and 50 psi.
motor off 35 to 45 psi... motor on 30 psi...
30-35 psi.
To test the fuel pump on a 1996 Ford Explorer, start by checking the fuel pump relay and fuse to ensure they are functioning properly. Then, locate the Schrader valve on the fuel rail and use a fuel pressure gauge to measure the fuel pressure; it should be around 30-45 psi. If the pressure is low or absent, you can tap the fuel tank gently to see if the pump starts working, indicating a potential failure. If the pump still does not operate, it may need to be replaced.
behind the left side cover. i have the same bike, same problem. i found the pump should pump 300cc { 3/4 pint } or more in 30 secs. any less the pump is bad. hope this helps. will need factory pump , i cked out universal ones and the smallest on at 1.5 psi puts out up to 25/30 gph. if i figured, factory is around 8/10 gph..
