I own a 2001 Lincoln Town Car and i had a problem where the "air suspension" light was on in the instrument cluster and the rear end started to sag. turns out the air bags were leaking and the air compressor is designed to turn off in this situation to prevent the compressor from burning up. I ended up replacing the rear air bags with a coil spring kit which i found new for around $300 versus the more expensive new air bags. The ride was not noticably sacrificed but the "air suspension" light ramins on in the instrument cluster.

If a 1988 Lincoln Town Car is blowing both hot and cold air when the air conditioning is on, there could be a problem with the thermostat. There might also be a problem with the level of refrigerant in the air conditioning pump.

How do you get your car back up after its been sitting for a year?

What kind of vehicle is it? Sounds like you probably have an air ride problem. IF it has been sitting and it does have air ride on it the bags have probably dry rotted and it can't hold air anymore. You can try replacing air parts, but they are expensive and unreliable. Another alternative is to go and purchase a non air conversion kit. I tried Strutmasters and they helped me out tremendously. However, if you do not have air ride this won't work, you probably do though if the car is low and won't come up. Common air ride problem!
