Most Chevy's I have worked on, there is only one way to lock down the sensor with the bolt hole you fit into place with the screw that goes in it.... on both of them. Just pull out the old ones, remembering where the darn bolt hole is, line it up with the new ones in place and put the screw back in and tighten hand snug.
line the timing mark from the crankshaft sprocket up with the camshaft sprocket and tada!

The 1999 Chevy Suburban camshaft sensor is located on the front of the engine. The camshaft sensor will be behind the front engine cover.
It does not have one. It still has a distributor
No it does not. It has a distributor no need for a cam sensor.
It does not have a crank shaft sensor.
Sorry partner. An alignment is such a complicated procedure it requires a computer and sensors connected to all four wheels. You could hit and miss adjust caster and camber but it would cost you more in tire replacements than getting an alignment done. Sears does a pretty good job at a reasonable price.
The timing sequence for a 1997 GMC Suburban 1500, equipped with a 5.7L V8 engine, typically involves aligning the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft. The crankshaft should be set to the Top Dead Center (TDC) on the compression stroke for cylinder number one. The timing chain or belt should then be positioned according to the manufacturer's specifications, ensuring the timing gears mesh correctly. It's essential to follow the service manual for precise timing adjustments and specifications.
BEHIND the starter. You MUST remove the starter to get to it.
A common sensor that could prevent a 1999 GMC Suburban from starting is the crankshaft position sensor. This sensor monitors the position and rotational speed of the crankshaft, and if it fails, the engine control module may not receive the necessary information to start the engine. Other potential culprits include the camshaft position sensor and the fuel pump relay, but the crankshaft position sensor is a frequent issue for starting problems in this model.
