What is the cheapest way to repair a 1983 Honda Civic with a leaky fuel filler neck?
On the 83 civic wagon, There are 2 rubber pipes (one from the filler hole and one into the tank). These two rubber pipes are connected with a steel pipe in the middle. The rubber pipes are clamped onto the steel pipe. The steel pipe rots out and needs to be replaced after time . I bought a muffler extention pipe (1.5" I think), cut it to length, and used hose clamps to clamp it in. Worked like a charm! All for 4 $.
AnswerI own a 83 civic also. My fuel filler rotted out too. I found one at a wrecker in Alberta Canada, in very good shape for 5$. on an 82 civic.
