The 700R4 is electronic, and has over drive.
The 400 has a detent cable that shifts it, and no over drive.
Th350 has a modulator on the back. Th400 has modulator on side. 700R4 has no modulator.
Probaly the only thing that will need to be changed is the length of your drive shaft. Usually a 700r4 is longer than a turbo400. Also, the slip yoke on the driveshaft for the output shaft on the TH400 is larger in diameter than the 700R4. You will need to install an electric kick down switch in the throttle linkage for passing gear on that TH400.
4L60E, (the electric decendant of the 700R4 and TH400)
Most likey its the TH400. If it has 4 speeds, its the 700R4 (w/overdrive)
Automatics would include th350, th400, or the 700r4, if you want a overdrive.
As long as its an automatic. You prolly have either the 700r4 or a th400. there are many shift kits for both
No, a Turbo 400 (TH400) and a 700R4 are not the same size. The Turbo 400 is a larger, heavier-duty three-speed automatic transmission, while the 700R4 is a lighter four-speed automatic transmission. They have different dimensions, weight, and gear ratios, which makes them suited for different applications in vehicles. Additionally, the mounting points and connection configurations differ between the two transmissions.

I'm assuming you're talking about the 700R4 and the TH400. The 700R4 is an overdrive transmission - this is what later evolved into the 4L60 and 4L60E. It has a .69 overdrive ratio, with four forward and one reverse gear. The TH400 is a direct drive transmission, with three forward and one reverse gear, and was also rated for higher torque engines than the TH350, and also the 700R4/4L60 - this was commonly mated to small block engines in 3/4 ton and heavier pickups, and is also the transmission used in the military M1008 and M1009 CUCVs, as well as the M998 series HMMWV ('Humvee'), in both cases, matched up with the 6.2 liter Detroit Diesel V8 engine.
