heads and intake
lets not forget that the LT1 uses a reverse pattern cooling system, a gear driven water pump, an optispark which utilizes an optical pickup, a 1 piece rear main seal (prior to 1986 was a 2 piece), and centerbolt heads (different bolt pattern) than a standard 350 block... not mentioning the opti is located on the FRONT of the motor UNDER the water pump :)
an average 350 Chevy has between 160 and 180 horsepower

To differentiate between a 350 4-bolt main and a 2-bolt main LT1 engine, examine the engine block's main cap configuration. The 350 4-bolt main engine will have four bolts securing each main cap, while the 2-bolt main LT1 will have only two bolts per cap. Additionally, the LT1 block will typically feature a unique casting number and may include provisions for fuel injection, distinguishing it from the older 350 engine. Lastly, the LT1 will have different accessory mounting points and a distinct intake manifold design.

Yes as long as the intake is not off of an LT1.. The intake in an LT1 350 is for a reverse cooling engine and doesn't have the same coolant passages, as well as not having a hole for the distributor.. LT1 used Opti-spark..
