The easiest way is to take it to a reputable shop. Although you can rent it there is a tool called a "spring Compressor" that is required to do this job. Not recommended for the backyard mechanic.

The Jeep will need to be jacked way up till all the weight is off the spring and the wheel is hanging loose, it is then you can compress the spring and remove the keepers to remove the old spring, install the new one the same way.
