The normal operating temperature of a 1999 Jaguar XJR engine typically ranges between 190 to 220 degrees Fahrenheit (88 to 104 degrees Celsius). Maintaining this temperature is crucial for optimal engine performance and efficiency. If the engine temperature exceeds this range, it may indicate cooling system issues or other mechanical problems that require attention. Regular monitoring of the temperature gauge is advisable to ensure proper engine health.
after the vehicle is warm & at normal operating temperature the idle speed should be 700 rpm +/- 50rpm

195 degrees I believe, but you can check your owners manual or one on Pontiac's website. The normal operating temperature with a stock thermostat is one line past the 1/4 mark. If you idle in traffic for long periods it can creep up a couple of lines but will/should come back down when you start moving. Hope this helps. "G"
