If your car is not a Z28 and has Idiot lights for the temp oil and AMP then this is the diagram you need.

The Electrical diagram for the 1979 Pontiac firebird instrument panel is found in the maintenance manual. The fuse box diagram is found in the owners manual.

Remove the instrument panel cover. Remove the instrument panel retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the gauges. The instrument panel will come out.

There is not dash "pad". It is a one piece instrument panel.
