The fuel pump only runs for a couple seconds after the initial start attempt, then shuts off. Crank the engine for a few seconds. Then turn it off and then do it again for a few more seconds. Do this several times in order to get the fuel to the engine. After a few attempts, the engine should start.. Hope this helps...
1991 mitsubishi eclipse 2.0L starts 2 to 3 seconds later shuts off
You need gas in the car or a new engine that has to be fixed in the car. When someting is wrong with the engine, there's something wrong with the car.
Whats wrong when an 86 ford aerostar keeps trying to start after the engine is running?
Fuel pump
On an interference engine you can have internal engine damage when you attempt to start it. On a noninterference engine it may not start or it may backfire, or miss, if it does start.
You need to replace your spark plug wires!! You can check this by spraying water on your spark plug wires when it is dark. Then start your engine and you should see the wires arc and your engine will be running rough just as it does when it rains or after a rain. Good Luck
Somthings wrong with the engine.
Broken starter drive? Broken tooth on converter/flywheel?
Engine will misfire, or may not start if enough wires are in the wrong place.
if it's a GM car tcc solenoid
There is a fusebox behind a panel in the glove box. There are at least three relays there....unplug them and for a few seconds, this will reset the vehicle computer and the engine will start. I've been told it's a short! rbdavey@aol.com
