RPM is going to vary depending on what you are doing. If the vehicle is heavily loaded or going uphill RPM will be higher. If you are going downhill or sitting at a stoplight it will be lower. For a practical test to make sure everything is working as it should lets assume 70 miles per hour on a flat roadway. Your RPM will probably be somewhere between 1800 and 2200. If you want to be sure your Caravan is shifting properly find a stretch of road where you can safely drive up to 45 miles per hour. Stop the vehicle and then accelerate normally watching the Tachometer. RPM should go up and then drop back a bit as it shifts into a higher gear. You should see it shift 3 times if everything is right. GOOD LUCK.

Inside the the front/pass side of the engine. It is run off of the timing belt.
It would bolt in, but will not run. The tone rings for the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors are different.
Fuel pump or freeze plugs.
It turned out to be an intake leak
If you are asking if the engine will shut off when the sensor does not detect oil pressure, the answer is no. It will run without an oil pressure reading.
