This is the Iron Duke engine in use in many GM front drives at the time. They are a direct install.

Any other engine requires significant wiring, coolant, clutch, mount and adapter changes.

Some of the popular engines for the fiero:

  • Small block Chev V8, requires adaptor kit, significant re-wire and mount modification's, may require drive shaft replacements.
  • Quad four Same as above but easier fit and better fuel economy than stock with significant performance gains.
  • 3.8 Super Charged, My car, Significant wiring and clutch changes, no adaptor kit needed but custom engine mounts required.
  • 2.8 family V6, find a Fiero donor car and this is an easy swap, requires wiring and clutch etc from donor car
