Check the bulbs - they are double filamented one filament may be burned out in each bulb It could also be your battery....run it by a car part store; they usually will check the charge of the battery for free.
I think I had a similar problem with my 1991 Sentra. When the headlights were on, one of my wouldn't work. There turned out to be a loose connection with one of the wires.

Check the brake switch under your pedal (which needs to be pushed when the brake pedal is depressed). This is what the problem was on my friends Sentra. As long as you have checked the lights and fuses, this should do it.
