The key will need to be forward on notch to unlock the steering. If you tow with the front axle on the ground, the transmission will fail unless you have a fluid circulation system installed.
It depends on how you are wanting to tow it. If you tow it four wheels on the ground, you will destroy the transmission so the key position doesn't matter. The key would need to be one notch forward to unlock the steering.
