The function of the 02 solenoid is to adjust the fuel flow to the primary (main) jet and is controlled by the computer. Its purpose is to lean out the air/fuel mixture under less than full throttle condition in response to the 02 sensor in the exhaust stream The result is greater engine efficiency and better fuel economy. In my experience it gives about 5 MPG greater fuel mileage compared to its 5220 relative which has a mechanical metering system. If it is working properly you should here it clicking at a regular rate at idle. It is not adjustable and has no replaceable parts other than the O ring at the base.
