You would want to use a 1/2" drive ratchet and socket set, plus extensions. I'd suggest you get a 1/2" drive ASE and Metric set both. I believe the fasteners you're talking about require a 15mm, but there will be different size fasteners you'll need to remove, as you'll probably want to separate the transmission from the bell housing, transfer case from the transmission, and there'll be a crossmember which you'll need to remove, as well. I've done this on a 2000 Trailblazer, but those were just Blazers with a special trim package up to 2002 - beyond that, they're a different vehicle, and I don't know if the fastener sizes are all the same. If you don't want to drain the fluids, you would take the bell housing, transmission, and transfer case down as one single unit, meaning you'll just remove the bolts from the bell housing.
