There is not much difference between power steering and transmission fluid. Many people use power steering in place of transmission fluid because it is cheaper.
I have a 1987 Toyota 4 runner...I need to replace my manual transmission fluid....and I needto replace it with Lucas Transmission fluid....how much do I need to buy?
80w90 gear oil
I just replaced my transmission on my '87 Town Car and PartSource told me that I need 11.6 L (or 12.25 quarts) of fluid.
Mopar ATF +3 or +4
Should be a dipstick towards the firewall usually with a red handle. Check it when the transmission is warm and the engine has to be running.
Near the firewall drivers side is the transmission fill tube this has a dip stick in it. printed on the stick are instructions how to check. usually trans. hot (if the engine is hot the Trans. will be hot too.) and in neutral park will register higher than actually is. If @ add usually 1 pint (1/2 QT).
Your transmission may be low on transmission fluid.
87 liters is equal to approximately 2,940 fluid ounces.
possibly you have a leaking cooling line from your trans cooler or radiator
