I know the manual says 5-20, but read Ford bulletins saying they use it to boost their CAFE ratings. Similar to what Honda is doing now. I have a Mercedes that uses 0-40 M1. The timing chain always rattles when first start the engine after the car is parked for a fed days. The dealer has told me its fine - they all do it. After the free maintenance ran out when the warranty expired I switched to 10-40 and now the engine runs smoother and the timing chain rattle has gone away. The manual says its ok to use it if the temperature is above 0. BTW, that's how older cars specified what oil is to be used - all based on temperature. So I'm using 10-30 semi-synthetic in my motorhome - Ford v10. I hope this helps you make your decision.
6 quarts with a new filter
Use a name brand 10W30
10w-40 Im not always right, but i'm never wrong
According to the 2004 Ford E-450 Owner Guide : With engine oil filter change : The 6.8 liter gasoline V10 engine takes : ( 5.7 litres / 6.0 U.S. quarts of 5W-20 )
The oil capacity of a 99 Ford Escort is 4 quarts. Use 5W-30 weight oil. Use a SM rated oil which is the highest rating.
5w/30
5-30 weight SM rated oil.
That would depend on what year of Ford Ranger and what size of engine it has
5w30 is recommended.
use straight 30 weight detergent
I looked up the 2007 Ford F-250 6.8L V10 gasoline engine on one of Fords websites and it shows : ( the Motorcraft FL-820-S engine oil filter is used )
You can use synthetic as long as you use the exact weight Ford recommends.
