Depends where you go to get the job done m8 i just had an engine change in my fiesta cost £570 that was fitting included i phoned loads of garages some were way OTT with qoutes of a grand + vat , a mobile mechanic would more than likely fit a an engine you buy yourself for less than a garage would charge , for me its been a good move good luck .
take it to your local garage
hi, My local garage charged £180 for the clutch plates replacement. That was on a P reg Mk5 1.25 8Valve engine. Should be similar.
http://www.auto-paints4u.co.uk/body-panels/ford/ford-fiesta/ford-fiesta-mk5-1999-2002.html sells them for about £20: a good repair garage will fit them and clean up for £80
this happened on my 1997 fiesta, i took it to the garage and had to pay
Take it to the garage..and pay around $500...this is what worked for me..
Take it to the Garage
a do it your self will cost about $45 to do it right. a garage will charge between $750-$1200
This requires engine and trans holding fixtures and a lift. Take it to a garage.
The best way is to take it to you local garage and let them do it, trust me ive had no end of problems on my 2000 year Fiesta Eco. Fiesta's have a very nice clever way of making you go to Ford for all simple problems in this i mean the Filter which is hidden behind the Engine and quite out of reach. The oil drain plug has a "special Ford" size so that non of us can ever get it off oh and if you do try then you'll shred it or damage it and need to go to the garage for them to remove and replace it..... Good old Ford, you think changing the oil is a challenge the just try and change the simple light bulbs at the front without building out half of the engine.
In CT USA, a garage would charge 1 hour labor to replace the rear brake pads on that Mountaineer.
It is not a job for the amature. TAke it to a garage.
you pay somebody to do it for you...I have one mostly apart in the garage now.
