What would cause the power windows not to go up or down but will work if you apply power from the power locks?

Similar problem and some diagnosisneed more information to answer.i came here wondering about the electical on a power windows for a civic.i bet we have a common quest here. my problem is that the rear window went down and stayed there. i found that i could make the window go up and down by applying power directly to the motor (this involved a couple 20' pieces of wire, my wife holding ends on the battery and me sticking the other ends of the wire into the plug leading to the window motor). So.. i figger.. motor: ok. leave us with wire and switches. since the thing went down.. I'm guessing, switch. I'll bet there are four switches... driver's door switch, passenger door switch, top of travel limit switch and bottom of travel limit switch. Since it went down, but not up, my next move is to find the top of travel limit switch. Since this is probably the hardest one to get to, that can only improve the odds of it being the one.Can anyone tell me how to stick all that stupid plastic together on the inside of the door?
