The original Cobra was based on the English Sports Car the AC Ace. Carroll Shelby powered the original "Cobra"with the new 260 c.i. Ford small block in 1962, the car was introduced at the Auto Show in Texas, it was a hit and several orders were placed for the car. The next Cobra model was powered by a highly tuned 305 h.p. 289 HiPo. Later versions were powered by the 427 c.i. Ford FE big block, this model was named the Cobra SC, Super Cobra. The Cobra was built through 1966.
As far as I can tell , the last model year for the Ford Mustang " Cobra " version was ( 2004 )
This is for sure a matter of opinion.
ford did not make a 1987 model cobra and svt has never offered a auto transmission cobra that came that way from the factory
The rated 0 to 60 time for a 2001 Mustang Cobra is about 4.7 seconds. The car can make the quarter mile in 13.3 seconds.
SVT stands for Special vehical team and they make special variations of the mustang (cobra, cobra r, and s 197 gt500's) they also hop up f150s and focus's
