DO NOT begin any work behind the dash or around the steering column unless the air bag system is disabled. Any random static spark could deploy an airbag. Consult a good repair manual. The main ECM is located behind the glove box above the heater. It can be easily identified by the yellow harness attached to it. You will need to remove the glove box and some of the lower dash panels to gain access.
