To the Owner of the 1990 6000: I had somewhat of the same question on my 1985 6000 STE. The rear suspension is like it is on the VW Rabbit in that it is a semi-independent suspension. Like VW, our suspension is composed of trailing arms coming back to the rear wheels which are suspended by coil springs and shocks. There is a panhard rod linkage to keep the rear axle in place during cornering manuevers. For some 6000's, there is an anti-sway bar inside the cross beam to the trailing arm suspension. If my description was not to helpful, contact Helm Inc, who is the company in charge of creating service manuals for GM products. Most Sincerely, Kristopher Gerbracht www.kristopher.gerbracht@juno.com
