There is no dip stick on the manual transmission. However, there is a large plug (threaded) in the side of the transmission. It is located on the driver's side of the unit. After removing the plug the fluid level should be filled to that point. Use only Ford Mercon ATF Transmission Fluid in this trnsmission, not heavy viscosity gear lube. Ford explicitly states this. Use a bottle that you can squirt or squeeze the fluid into the unit. You fill it until it begins to run out of the same hole the large bolt is in (driver's side); approximately half way up the transmission body.
passenger side rear of motor, it goes down the same tube used to check the transmission fluid levels, you will need a good funnell
It is important to check and maintain fluid levels in a car. To check the transmission fluid, a person looks for the red cap under the hood, this is the transmission dipstick.
On a 2000 Ford Ranger : On a manual transmission , underneath the vehicle , on the transmission will be a fill plug . With the vehicle level the fill plug is cleaned and removed to check the fluid level ( the fluid level should be at the bottom of the fill plug hole )
Depends on the car.
there is a transmission fluid check dipstick under the hood, get a funnel and use this tube. It drains directly into the transmission. check often while adding fluid, to much will damage it.
For your manual transmission , I believe it is on the drivers side
check the transmission fluid first
An automatic transmission on Ford Ranger holds three quarts of transmission fluid. That is after you drain all the old transmission fluid out.
Should be a drain plug in the bottom of transmission Should be a fill-check plug in the side of transmission
Should be a plug at the side of transmission - fill to this level
To check the fluid in a manual transmission of a 1991 Ford Ranger, first ensure the vehicle is on a level surface. Locate the fill plug on the side of the transmission; it typically requires a wrench to remove. Insert a finger into the hole; the fluid level should be just below the fill hole. If necessary, add the appropriate transmission fluid until it reaches the correct level.
For a 1994 Ford Ranger, the manufacturer's recommendation is DEXRON-MERCON automatic transmission fluid.
