hi there on mine i have the negative cable running from the batter to the bonnet slam panel and also running down to the main body rail next to the rad and a further cable runs to the lower front part of the engine where the Power Steering pump bolts on. it might seem a bit excessive but at least i wont have any earthing problems arise form it. hope it helps nate
Positive to positive and negative to negative. The negative will be connect to the engine or chassis. The positive will be connected to the starter.
To your vehicle chassis.
The battery post positive terminal is where you connect the positive cable. Connect the negative cable to anyplace on the engine or chassis. Connect positive first and remove it last.
The negative battery cable does not connect directly to the starter; instead, it typically connects to the vehicle's chassis or engine block, which serves as the grounding point. The starter is powered by the positive battery cable, which connects directly to the starter motor. The starter relies on a good ground connection provided by the negative cable to complete the electrical circuit and function properly.
Yes you can if the battery is the problem. connect the red on car with good battery to the positive ( + ) terminal, then the red on the dead battery, connect the black to the negative ( - ) on the good battery and the black to a good chassis ground( exposed metal in engine bay ) a good spot is the strut mount bolt.
The man said it Always connect the positive + cable first to the battery. Then connect the negative- cable to the engine somewhere. Never connect the negative cable to the battery itself. Batteries vent hydrogen gas and which can ignite with the slightest spark. For this reason never, ever, connect the negative first and never connect the negative to the battery.
The negative battery lead cable is to be connected to the negative lead terminal on the battery.
Connect the Positive + battery cable to the positive + battery post first. Then connect the Negative - cable to the negative - battery post.
If you connect a negative battery terminal to another negative terminal, you would be creating a short circuit, which can lead to excessive current flow and potential damage to the battery or the connected devices. It is not a recommended practice and can be dangerous.
Negative battery or jump start post.
Connect the positive + red charger cable to the positive + red battery post. Then connect the negative - black charger cable to the engine somewhere. Most engines have something metal sticking up that you can connect to. Do not connect the negative charge cable to the negative battery post, always connect it to the engine.
Connect the negative cable first.
