Where is a 1999 mercury sable speed sensor it is a dohv it says in the book above the trans axle but ive had no luck finding it?

I have a 97 and assume it is in the same location. Open the hood. Stand at the drivers side fender and look straight down to the transmission. It should be located just to the rear of where the CV-Shaft comes out of the transmission - in the vacinity of the motor mount.
