The DLC (data link connector) is located under the dash just below the steering column if you have a 1996 or newer Villager. Pre-1996 vehicles have diagnostic connector mounted on the transaxle beside the starter which must be jumpered to obtain the fault codes.
Error codes on a 1997 Mercury Villager can be found by connecting an OBDII code reader to the diagnostic port. The service manual has a full list of error codes and their causes.
You can try unplugging the battery to re set it or using a code reader on it
You must have a code reader to interface with the OBDII data port under the dash.
EGR Flow malfunction
Its trying to give you a trouble code to tell you whats wrong with the car. Take it to someone who has a code reader, such as an autoparts store or oilcan Henry's if you have one near you.
Trouble code P1320 means: Distributor Signal Interrupt
Mercury Villager was created in 1993.
Unhook the battery for a minute to reset the PCM.
Trouble code P1446 means: EVAP System Vent Control Closed
If the 1993 Mercury Villager runs rough when the check engine light comes on and the code reader says 34 and 51, there is a problem with an oxygen sensor and the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor. Both parts together will cost around $200.
have a 1993 mercury villager. Don't have door key code can't find default code in glove box. Does anyone know what the default code is
