Low coolant or a defective sensor
low antifreeze , or faulty coolant sensor .
wher is location of heat sensor on 2003 grand prix 3100
trasmission
it is located below thermostat on driver side.
The low coolant sensor in a Pontiac Grand Prix is designed to monitor the coolant level in the reservoir and alert the driver if it falls below a safe threshold. If the sensor is faulty or the coolant level is indeed low, it may trigger a warning light on the dashboard. Regularly checking and maintaining the coolant level can help prevent engine overheating and damage. If you experience a persistent warning despite proper coolant levels, the sensor may need inspection or replacement.
there is no reset you have replace the low coolant sensor and flush cooling system and use dexcool coolant.
replacing a fuel sensor on a 2003 grand prix?
How do you replace a water pump on 2001 Grand prix?" How do you replace a water pump on 2001 Grand prix?"
On my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, the coolant level sensor in the radiator near the battery would get gummed up. You can lower the coolant level in the radiator, remove the battery, and remove the sensor. Clean it and replace the coolant. I was having to do this yearly. One common problem on these Pontiacs is a leaking plastic lower intake manifold gasket set. A small amount of oil can contaminate the coolant and lead to this build up on the sensor and thus the coolant light illuminated. I changed the l.i.m. gaskets on my car with the improved all aluminum replacement gasket set. In my opinion, this is a very good engine but why GM went with these plastic gaskets is beyond me!!
Sensor cost around 45 to 50 dollars but you can remove your old one and clean it with some carburetor cleaner or degreaser and a q-tip. It saved me some money.
it should be right beside the thermostat its a 2 wire sensor usually with a blue insert on it
