The 2007 Chevy impala takes up 5 quarts of oil.
It has two. It has an oil dipstick and a transmission dipstick.
If this is the 2.2 engine, the dipstick is attached to the oil fill cap.

A 1996-2014 Chevy Express Van 1500 transmission dipstick/tube and the engine oil dipstick/tube are both located under the hood on the passenger side. The engine oil dipstick should have a yellow handle. The trans dipstick is located next to the engine oil dipstick.
Transmission fluid goes down the dipstick tube. The transmission dipstick not the oil dipstick. use a skinny funnel. do not over fill.
The oil pump is inside the engine under the oil pan.
The 2003 Impala uses between 4.5 and 4.75 quarts of oil during an oil change. Use the dipstick after getting the oil level close to add more as needed to fill.
The dipstick can rust if the pcv sytem is not working properly.
On the bottom of the oil pan, look for the large bolt.
