The E.G.R. Valve is located below the intake manifold, close the throttle body between the engine and the firewall.
I owned a 1993 probe with an automatic transmission. It did not have an EGR valve. I gutted the car and replaced the complete wiring, suspension and running gear with manual transmission out of a 1994 SE, the 94 had the EGR just as stated above. It also changed it to an OBD2 diagnostics port.
The 1993 Ford escort did not come with an EGR valve. It is one of a few year models that do not have one.

As far as I can tell, there is no EGR valve on 1993 Ford Aerostar 3.0L engines. I have searched and found none and the vacuum hose routing decal in the engine compartment does not show an EGR valve.

The EGR position sensor is located on top of the EGR valve. Has an electrical connector attached.
