The MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor on a 1997 Geo Metro is typically located on the intake manifold, near the throttle body. It is a small, rectangular component with an electrical connector and a vacuum line attached to it. To access it, you may need to remove some engine covers or components for better visibility. Always ensure the engine is off and cool before attempting to locate or service the MAP sensor.

Where is the map sensor on a 1997 Chevy 1500?
Does it have an ignition control module? That may be the cause. Or possibly a MAP sensor or a Crank position sensor or Cam position sensor. Check those first.
ok, I have the haynes geo repair manual it says code 23 , manifold air temperature (mat) /intake air temperature (iat) sensor circuit code 31 & 32, manifold absolute pressure (map) sensor circuit the above sensors eather need to be replaced or checked for problems with the sensor.
Try the right (passenger) side firewall near battery.
