The wheel bearing is a sealed unit and should not leak, but over time, water, grime, and wear, it may begin to no longer be sealed. Buy a new wheel bearing and install it your self if you want. All you have to do is take off the wheel, the brake caliper, the rotor, and finally the bearing itself.
