The blend door actuator in a 2003 BMW 745i is typically located behind the dashboard, specifically within the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) unit. To access it, you may need to remove various panels and components, including the central console and possibly the glove box. The actuator controls the flow of air between the heater and air conditioning systems, allowing for temperature regulation inside the vehicle. For precise removal and installation, it's often recommended to consult the vehicle's service manual.

I believe it is located behind the glove compartment. Drop out the glove compartment box and you will see the blend door actuator.

To fix the blend door in a 2003 Mercury vehicle, you typically need to access the HVAC system, which may require removing the dashboard. First, disconnect the battery, then remove any necessary panels and the glove compartment to reach the blend door actuator. Inspect the actuator for damage or disconnection and replace it if needed, ensuring it operates smoothly. Reassemble the dashboard components and reconnect the battery to test the repair.
Without testing a guess would be a blend door or actuator or maybe a control problem
Cannot seem to get the air to flow throught the vents top or bottom. I have replaced the faulty blend door actuator loctaed on the side of the unit, but still no air or anything. Question: some one said that the openings have to be reset in order for the actuator to work, is this true? I do remember hearing a mechanic say that the way the original actuator came out is how the new actuator is supposed to go in. Please advice. Troy
