Cadillac brake release: All of the Cadillacs that I have had, there is no brake release. When you put the car in drive, the parking brake automatically releases. This is good, since if your brakes ever fail, you can use your emergancy brake like a regular pedal-thats if your emergancy brake is working good. To add to this Cadillac's have a manual release in case the auto fails. Most are at the top right of the emergency brake petal, there's a little lever that pulls forward. That should release it. ( I currently have a 89 that the petal doesn't want to release half the time)

If the AC in a 1988 Cadillac Fleetwood isn't blowing through the vents, it could be due to a few common issues. One possibility is a malfunctioning blower motor or a blown fuse that powers the motor. Additionally, a clogged air filter or issues with the HVAC control system could prevent air from reaching the vents. Lastly, problems in the ductwork or a malfunctioning mode selector could also inhibit airflow.
The heater control valve on a 1988 Cadillac Fleetwood d'Elegance is typically located near the firewall on the passenger side, connected to the heater core hoses. To replace it, first, drain the coolant from the radiator, then disconnect the hoses attached to the valve. Remove the mounting screws to take out the old valve, install the new valve in the same position, and reconnect the hoses. Finally, refill the coolant and check for leaks.
I can't provide images, but I can describe the location. In a 1988 Cadillac, the emergency brake lever is typically located between the front seats, often near the center console. It usually resembles a pull handle or a small lever that you can pull up to engage the brake. If you need more specific guidance, referring to the owner's manual would be helpful.
On a 1988 Cadillac Fleetwood De Elegance, the fuel filter is typically located along the fuel line, either mounted on the frame rail or near the fuel tank. You may need to lift the vehicle for better access, as it can be positioned underneath. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for precise location details and instructions on replacement.
It is a Gen III Fleetwood and will use something along the lines of a THM200 or a 200-R4 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbo-Hydramatic#Turbo-Hydramatic_200 also see http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/rwd-19xx-1984-deville-fleetwood-1985/105690-1988-brougham-needs-2004r-transmission-please.html Some debate as to whether the 200 series are any good. I have an 1988 Fleetwood Brougham and have had issues before 100K (97K in 2009) The rest of the car was in great shape (old lady car).
