THERE IS NO GAUGE CHECK IT WHEN ITS COOL TAKE THE CAP OFF AND LOOK IN DO NOT DO THIS IF THE ENGINE IS WARM IT WILL SCALD YOU
Temperature.
One the engine block on the 302 and 351's
Bad gauge and/or coolant temp sensor The coolant temp sensor doesn't control the gauge. There is a sensor in the head on the driver's side that controls the gauge. It is fairly easy to get to, probably one of the only things on a 4th gen. lol
Temperature Gauge Sending Unit The sending unit is located in the front section of the intake manifold in the vicinity of the thermostat.

That is the coolant sensor. Not the one for the temperature gauge in the dash.
where is the tps located on a 1994 f150
Low Coolant or faulty gauge
Replace the coolant temp sensor
23-25 qts.
Bad t-stat, bad gauge, bad temp. sending unit, low coolant, bad radiator cap all come to mind. Coolant condition will tell you something else too. It could be the coolant sensor is caked with sludge from a poorly maintained system. It would read a short all the time which pegs the gauge. Also could be a shorted lead in the harness or shorted board on gauge cluster
low coolant could cause this . without some backround ?
