On the Jaguar X-Type, the coolant temperature sensor is typically located near the thermostat housing, which is found on the engine block. It may be positioned at the front or side of the engine, depending on the specific engine variant. To access it, you may need to remove some components or covers, so it's advisable to consult the vehicle's service manual for exact details on your model year.
it is under a coolant pipe that is under lower intake manifold
The crankshaft sensor on a Rover 200 is located below and to the right of the generator and cylinder head temperature sensor. It is on the driver's side of the engine and above the oil filter.
What type of coolant sensor? The below answer is for the coolant LEVEL sensor. The coolant TEMPERATURE sensor on my vehicle is located just next to the thermostat housing. On the front top center area of the engine just behind the radiator. Follow the coolant hoses if you have trouble. On my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee the sensor is located on the top of the plastic coolant reservoir tank. Look for a small (2-wire?) electrical connector.

The 2003 Jaguar X-Type typically uses a coolant mixture that is compatible with ethylene glycol-based antifreeze. It's recommended to use a Jaguar-approved coolant or a high-quality coolant that meets the specifications of either G48 or G05. Always ensure that the coolant is diluted with distilled water to the appropriate concentration, usually a 50/50 mix, for optimal performance and protection against corrosion.
on the 4 cylinder it's on the bottom of the thermostat housing, main radiator hose area. it has a metal clip type connector on it. the one on top is the coolant sensor.
The coolant temperature sensor is located on the passenger rear of the engine a couple of inches below the valve cover. Very cramped, not easy to get a wrench on. It's easy to see the connector and touch the sensor, but it's tight quarters and recessed a bit. Recommend a split deep socket, similar to the type for 02 sensors. Hope this helps.
