There's a lone knob behind and to the left of the steering wheel. It looks like a clock with a light bulb on it. Took me 5 years to find it.
you either have a bad door switch, any of them could be bad. or you have the lights physically turned on at the switch.
should be able to pop the clear lens out with a flat head screwdriver.

Keep messing with the headlight switch, the dome light should come on depending on the car model.
Im assuming you mean the dome light? If so, did you try turning off the wheel switch located below the leadlight switch? I also have a Grand Prix GTP and noticed that there is a scroller that lets you change the brightness of your dashboard lights. When that is on the highest level, the inside lights seem to turn on. Try lowering the intensity of the light and it might go away.
To replace the dome light on a Grand Am, unscrew the light cover. Pull it down gently. Disconnect the light. Connect the new light, replace the light cover, and replace the screws.
Well i have a newer grand prix, but i was told in some situations if you install an aftermarket CD player and the proper kits and installing procedures arent used, then the dome lights will not work. I have also heard in rare cases this can affect the airbags. So if you do have an aftermarket deck maybe you should look into that.
I believe on almost any GM/Chevy/Pontiac vehicle you turn off DRL by pushing the dome light round grey switch, underneath the headlight switch. It will cycle between dome light on/off and DRL.
