the fuel filter is located on driverside rear in front of the rear wheel.
On the fuel line going to the carburetor.

That would be the oil sending unit.
The 1986 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck fuel filter is located inside of the fuel tank. The fuel tank will need to be removed in order to change the fuel filter.

the fuel filter on a 1986 ford ranger is located on the inside of the frame on the drivers side in front of the gas tank.
Driver side rear between firewall and engine block. It is bolted in with one of the engine and trans bolt. You will have to remove the wiper motor to get to it.

Disconnect the fuel line from the carb with a 5/8" line wrench then unthread the fitting in the carb with a 1" wrench. The fuel filter is inside that fitting. Take note how the filter and spring are assembled into the carb for reassembly.
