The heater core is located slightly right of the center of the dashboard, bolted to the firewall. (behind radio, vents, etc) I just did this myself, and it is NOT a quick and easy job. You need to buy the book for this job as you need to remove the entire dash board, unbolt the core cover, then the braces, and the core itself. I didn't need to drain the coolant as they reccomended, nor did i need to empty the ac unit. After you get the dash to pivot backwards, pray you can get to it without having to completely remove as the wiring harnesses are a serious pain. Good luck.. Buy the book, and don't make plans for the weekend. Careful disassembly is the key. I used a cardboard box with diagrams to remember where the screws and nuts went (I stick the screws into the box diagram where they go). Also for some of the component pieces you will want to use ziplock baggies to keep those parts together. This is not a hard job. It is very time intensive though. Realistically, I would plan for 16 hours of actual work (unless you have done it before, then cut the time in half). Power tools or air tools will dramatically decrease the time.
Maybe a bad switch
Check coolant level .Then thermostat . Then hearter core

NO it will not. They are complete DIFFERENT designs. Will NOT interchange.
Check Antifreeze level..make sure there are no leaks under the vehicle.
$400 to $500 or more if the vehicle has AC, would be my guess.
