The Ignition control module is located under the coil which is on top of the driver side wheel well, Commonly known as an ignitor.

Attached to the ignition coil you will find an "igniter". Per the local Toyota Dealer parts dept. there is no ignition module. The igniter takes it's place. I have been trying to locate the module on my 1980 corona as well and that was the answer they gave me. It does not have one. Crankshaft position sensors are used in distributorless ignition systems to tell the ignition control module where the crankshaft is in its rotation. The 1982 thru 1986 2.8L engines had distributors so they had no need of a crankshaft position sensor.
There is no ignition module in a '84 laser. They have a coil and distributor unless it has been modified. If you don't get a spark across the points in the distributor when you try to start the engine you probably need a new coil.
Really going back in time. If it is the same as the '87, the module is on the firewall. Small box with a wire plug in. Sort of silver in color. Most times when this module is defective, the engine will cut out, and after a few minutes will restart. Ford should still have the part in stock. Just make sure the points are gapped properly and the rotor is in good shape.
