The firing order for a 1969 Dodge 318 is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. The number one cylinder is the front cylinder on the drivers side of the engine.
A good quality cap has number 1 labeled.
Number one cylinder is the front passenger side in a V6 Dodge Magnum.
The #1 plug wire is on the front left next to the intake bolt. The firing order (clockwise) is 18436572.

For the 318 engine it would be 18436572 clockwise rotation .The number one wire should be up in front. The cylinder numbersare on the intake manifold runners.; )
Number one is the front, driver side.
pull the spark plug out of the number one cylinder (they are labeled on the intake manifold) turn the crank gear ( the bottom gear) until the piston is all the way to the top of the cylinder ( use screw driver to gauge) get the dot on the crank gear (bottom gear) as close to stright up as you can get it then the dot on the cam gear (top gear) goes straight down. then pull your distributer cap off and point the roter bug at the number one cylinder. then your done.
It is the one closest to the radiator.
The number one cylinder for the 2.7 Dodge engine on the passenger side. It is the cylinder closest to the front of the engine.
