Let me give you good advice.. i have a big twin. All the shop guys tell me they don't drop the drain plug. They suck out the oil and it get;s 90% of the oil out. If you do remove the plug to svc eng... buy an "o" ring so it can be replaced after svc. They leeeeeeeekk. but i love my dyna. CHICKS DIGGIM
The drain plug for a 1999 Harley Davidson soft tail is located at the bottom of the oil tank. There is a rubber hose leading to the frame, follow it to the right side of the frame. It is located under the bike on the frame.
Back off the swingarm..under the right side, a 5/8 drain plug.
Remove the drain plug

there is a hose below the tank connected to the frame with a plug and a clamp that is the oil drain
next to the soft bottom hose on the radiator.should be a ring nut
On the right side under the oil tank back by the tire u will see a rubber hose with a plug in the end of it hooked on the frame. Unhook from frame, remove plug and this will drain your oil taink.

Locate drain hose under oil tank on right side of bike, loosen clamp at bottom of hose, remove metal plug from end of hose, drain oil into suitable container.

engine oil drain plug is located behind the right side swing arm and go straight down behind it. you can follow the oil line from the oil reservoir, it is covered in corrugated material. The tranny drain plug is located under the motorcyle in between the horizonal shocks. inline with your passenger foot pegs. both drain plug require a 5/8 socket to remove
