On a 1989 Jeep Comanche, the oil sending unit is typically located on the engine block, near the oil filter. It is often found on the driver's side, towards the rear of the engine. Access may require some maneuvering, as it can be tight in that area. If you're having trouble locating it, consulting a repair manual or searching for a diagram specific to your engine type can be helpful.

It's located to the left of the oil filter.
It is in the oil Pan. You will have to drop the oil pan to change it.
It is just above the oil filter on the driver side of the engine.
