On 2 wheel drives the rear speed sensor is on the transmission tail shaft housing.
For 4x4 trucks it is on the transfer case. I am talking about the ABS sensor for the rear wheels.
Where is the rear wheel abs sensor on a 1998 Honda CRV?
It's the ABS sensor and should not be removed/bypassed.
The speed signal comes from the abs sensor on top of the rear axle.
The ABS speed sensor is located on the rear axle or the transmission case of your car. Use the owner's manual to understand the parts well.
The rear ABS sensor should be in the gear box (i can't remember the exact term) in your rear end. The front ABS sensors are in your wheel hubs...
The speedometer signal comes from the abs computer via the rear axle speed sensor. That is the sensor on the top center of the rear axle. The speedometer signal comes from the abs computer via the rear axle speed sensor. That is the sensor on the top center of the rear axle.
how to replace front abs speed sensor
The rear abs sensor is on the top centre of the differential. There is a small bolt that holds it in.
On the rear of the differential. This sensor feeds the speedometer and the rear ABS braking system. Basically a magnet simply held in by a bolt. Has an O ring to seal it.
rear abs sensor is in the transfer case in the rear tailshaft there 2 sensors 1 is for the speedo and 1 for the abs
on a 2000 dodge ram 1500 the abs sensor is located on the rear end above where the drive shaft meets the rear end, if it is bad there will be a brake light on in your dash and may rev high in first gear before shifting into second If it has 4 wheel abs there will be a sensor at each front wheel bearing.
The sensor in the rear differential is the differential speed sensor. It serves the function of as vehicle speed sensor and as wheel speed sensor for rear wheels for ABS. The speedometer cable is on the driver's side rear of the transmission.
